Some more pics to share. A couple from last weekend and some from today.
Nap time, last Sunday:
And then today, Myf models her new blanket & Morgana goes walk-about:
Morgana was jealous...
... so I brought her out next.
We didn't go far -- it was a busy, noisy day in the neighbourhood (harvest-time, you know) and there were scary things lying around like wheelbarrows and lawn-furniture cushions on picnic tables and the like, and I had forgotten the butt-rope, so we mostly walked up and down the barn aisle.
It's been raining/snowing (precipitating) here a lot the last couple of weeks, so there's mud everywhere. True to form, Morgana is picking up her mom's bad habits, namely rolling in the mud. See:
And then there was Morgana's first snowfall:
For a brief period of time, Merry was just about the cleanest of the herd:
He's now as muddy as anybody. Myf's the only one who seems to make an attempt to stay clean.
I tried uploading a short avi video of the squirt being cute last night, but VOX doesn't want to take it (despite it being under the size limit and one of the listed file types). I can offer a couple of photos:
In other news, Morgana's papers arrived. She is officially Trevethan Lady Morgana in the Sec B Welsh books now.
Morgana's losing her wee-baby fuzz; looking grey in some spots, black in others, and chocolaty in still other spots. Moth-eaten is the way I would describe her at the moment.
Have more pictures of her to post. Some from last week, some from today. First, last Wednesday's shots:
Today I took Annie and Morgana down to the arena for a change of scenery & to see if Morgana would make use of the big space for a romp. Boy, did she.
She displayed a nice uphill canter...
... but you really should see her trot.
No, really. Look. At. That. Trot!
And then we walk back to our own paddock.
Morgana's new, super wee halter arrived today. Very nicely made. Lovely soft leather. I would highly recommend this halter for anyone with a small foal.
Anyway, since it arrived, I had to go try it on her. I'm not a believer in leaving halters on horses all the time, so we just practiced putting it on & taking it off & putting it on again...
After playing with Morgana, I took Myf down to the arena for a longe. She's horribly one-sided, but I did manage to get her going 'round in a circle both directions. This is her first time on the real line.
