Some more pics to share. A couple from last weekend and some from today.
Nap time, last Sunday:
And then today, Myf models her new blanket & Morgana goes walk-about:
Morgana was jealous...
... so I brought her out next.
We didn't go far -- it was a busy, noisy day in the neighbourhood (harvest-time, you know) and there were scary things lying around like wheelbarrows and lawn-furniture cushions on picnic tables and the like, and I had forgotten the butt-rope, so we mostly walked up and down the barn aisle.
It's been raining/snowing (precipitating) here a lot the last couple of weeks, so there's mud everywhere. True to form, Morgana is picking up her mom's bad habits, namely rolling in the mud. See:
And then there was Morgana's first snowfall:
For a brief period of time, Merry was just about the cleanest of the herd:
He's now as muddy as anybody. Myf's the only one who seems to make an attempt to stay clean.
Just another quick little post. I should have more pictures soon, but I have to get them off the camera first.
Morgana has officially outgrown her wee foal halter. I tried getting it on her this morning and it barely made it past her muzzle. She's on to the pink one now (which she's already gotten mud on). She has also discovered that carrots are tasty -- at least the teeny little baby carrots. She's been eating apples that I cut up small for her for a bit now, so that's two treats I can give her, besides her feed. Scritches still make a good reward, but I find that food is an excellent motivator.
It's been cold & wet here this past week and promises to get colder soon, so I've ordered Myf a turnout blanket of her own from Just for Ponies. Purple! I hope it arrives quickly. I had to borrow Gimli's blanket for her last night, 'cause she'd gotten wet during the day and was shivering when I put her up in her stall for the night.
